CORE, Centre for Organisation Research & Education (Indigenous Peoples’ Centre for Policy and Human Rights in India’s Eastern Himalayan Territories) NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Our primary functions are advocacy and documentation of human rights abuses directly concerning indigenous peoples, but as there are organizations in the Northeast with the capacity to respond to the dynamic nature in which human rights abuses reveal themselves in this conflict zone, CORE is required to be highly adaptive in our approach and campaigns.

The Human to Humane Transcultural Centre for Torture & Trauma (H2H) is an autonomous humanitarian action service initiative of CORE, working as an independent health and humanitarian service for survivors of trauma and torture in Manipur, India since 2008. The centre seeks to address an existing gap of comprehensive and effective institution-based healthcare response to the high prevalence of widespread trauma and torture, and their consequences on the people of Manipur in the context of long-standing political violence, internal armed conflict, and escalating criminal violence.
