On 30 March, 2014, an event called Koou organized by Kanwai Okinawa Bunko was held at Peace club in Osaka, Japan. The event had Ms. Michiko Natake, performed Ryukyu buyou (Okinawa traditional dance), Kyan Dojo, performed Karate, and Mr. Surjit Nongmeikapam, performed contemporary dance.
The aim of this event was 1) how Okinawa and Manipur which have different culture, but they have similar historical experience such as oppressed by their “mother” country, Japan and India would act in concert with each other through their cultural performance. 2) Challenging how the different culture can collaborate and respect each other in order to dominate others.
